Joseph P. Fusaro, DDS, FAGD

Dr. Fusaro was born at Good Samaritan Hospital in Islip, NY and grew up on Long Island.

College

•    University of Scranton, Pennsylvania - Graduated in 1991 - Earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Biology.

Post-Graduate Education

•    University of Maryland - Baltimore College of Dental Surgery (Baltimore, Maryland) - Graduated in 1995 with a Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree.

•    Richmond Memorial Hospital - Graduated in 1996 with a General Practice Residency Diploma. This is an additional year that Dr. Fusaro spent in training. This advanced training permits Dr. Fusaro to complete treatments, which a regular general dentist normally will not provide such as IV Sedation and certain surgical procedures.

Fellowships

Dr. Fusaro obtained Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry in July 2003 (FAGD Diploma). This designation recognizes the doctors’ commitment to continuing education by obtaining more than 500 hours of post-graduate education and training and passing a comprehensive examination in all facets of general dentistry. Dr. Fusaro is undergoing continuing education to receive mastership in the academy. Only select dentists have obtained this prestigious accomplishment. Dr. Fusaro is also a member of the Commonwealth Study Club.

Dr. Fusaro has been a dentist since 1995. He practiced as an independent contractor for 2.5 years for the Air Force in Warner Robins, Georgia. He was also an associate for a cosmetic practice in Arlington, Virginia before becoming a partner at Fredericksburg Dental Care in August 1999.

Personal

He is married to Teri and has three children. His son, Grayson was born in 1998 and his daughter Annalese, was born in 2002. His third child and his second son, Ian, was born in 2005. In his free time, Dr. Fusaro loves to travel and has a special appreciation for historical preservation. He enjoys boating and skiing with his family.

Jamie R. Johnson, DDS, MS

Dr. Johnson was born in Seoul, South Korea and moved to the U.S. in 1980. Dr. Johnson is a top 10 honors graduate from Prince George High School in Prince George, VA. Dr. Johnson began his college education as an art major at Virginia Commonwealth University. After successfully completing the first portfolio building year and being accepted into the coveted commercial arts college, Dr. Johnson made a life changing decision and chose to pursue his other passion: to help. He followed the pre-medical route in his remaining years at VCU and graduated with honors with a B.S. in biology.

Post-Graduate Education

•    Certificate degree in Anatomy from MCV/VCU.

•    Master's degree in Biochemistry with a published thesis on chemical cascade pathways in brain cells from MCV/VCU.

•    Doctorate in Dental Surgery and graduated with honors from MCV/VCU.

Dr. Johnson loves working with his hands. He believes he has found the perfect combination for his talents for the arts and his desire to help people. He hopes that his patients understand and believe, as he does, that every tooth that he works on is a piece of functioning and living art.

Dr. Johnson continues to learn about the constant advancements in dentistry by building on his education and services that will provide the utmost comprehensive and highest standard of care for his patients.

Richard Duong, DMD

A Virginia native, Dr. Richard Duong was born in Alexandria and lived in Fairfax and Loudoun counties during his formative years. Dr. Richard stayed in state for college and graduated from Virginia Tech with dual bachelor degrees in biological sciences and psychology. Dentistry became his passion and calling when he shadowed a local dentist in his hometown. The ability to provide hands-on care for patients and to form relationships with them to achieve optimal oral health led him to the University of New England College of Dental Medicine in Portland, Maine.

Upon graduating from dental school with his Doctorate of Dental Medicine degree, Dr. Richard returned home to much warmer weather and practiced as an associate in Winchester and Alexandria at fee-for-service private practices utilizing the latest in technology and fostering lasting impressions with his patients. A life-long learner, Dr. Richard is committed to continuing education and is a part of several professional organizations. He hopes to utilize all that he has learned and experienced in order to provide meaningful and excellent care for all of his patients. His patients will value his transparency, consistency, and genuine warmth. He has been with Fredericksburg Dental Care since 2021.

Dr. Richard is married to Erika, a veterinarian and they share a home with their "bosses". Three adorable Shih Tzus: Posey, Donut, and Milkshake. They enjoy Maine summers, culinary arts, hiking US National Parks, and having adventures in worldly destinations. He is a complete die-hard Virginia Tech Hokie and faithfully cheers on all DC sports teams.
