Richard E. Livesay, D.D.S.
Dr. Livesay was born at Medical College of
Virginia in Richmond, Virginia in the year 1958. He grew up in Petersburg,
Virginia.
High School:
Bollingbrook High School in Petersburg,
Virginia - graduated in 1976.
College:
Randolph-Macon College (Ashland, Virginia) - graduated in 1980 with a
Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology.Post-Graduate Education:
Virginia Commonwealth University/Medical College of
Virginia (Richmond, Virginia) - graduated in 1986 with a Doctor of Dental
Surgery Degree.
Dr. Livesay has been a dentist since 1986. He
practiced as an associate in a general dentistry practice on the Eastern
Shore of Maryland in the town of Easton from 1986 - 1987. He served for
three years as a commissioned officer in the United States Navy Dental
Corps, (one year shore duty and two years ship's dentist) from 1987 to 1990.
During this time Dr. Livesay completed additional training in oral surgery
and periodontics while stationed at Lemoore Naval Air Station in California.
Prior to assignment as a ship's dentists, he underwent field training with
the U.S. Marines and completed the Armed Forces Combat Casualty Care Course
at Fort Sam Houston, Texas.
His final two years of active duty were
as a Dental Officer aboard the U.S.S. Shenandoah, for which service he was
awarded the Navy Achievement Medal, by the Secretary of the Navy. He
established himself as an associate in a general dentistry practice in
Williamsburg, VA from 1991 to 1996 before becoming a partner in
Fredericksburg Dental Care in September 1996.

Personal:
His family includes his wife Karen and their two children.
His son, Kyle was born in 1988 and daughter, Jenna was born in 1990. When
not practicing dentistry he could be found enjoying mountain bike riding or
hiking.
